These terms govern your use of quiza.co.za ("Quiza", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them.
Using Quiza
Quiza is a free daily quiz. You may play as a guest, or log in with a username and mobile number to appear on the daily leaderboard. Each day offers a new set of questions in each category, the same for every player, and resets at midnight (SAST).
Your account
Choose a username and provide a valid South African mobile number.
Keep your details accurate. Don't impersonate others or choose offensive usernames.
We may remove usernames or leaderboard entries that are abusive, offensive or misleading.
Fair play
Scores are based on correct answers and how quickly you answer. You may not cheat, use automated tools, or manipulate the leaderboard. We may disqualify entries or remove leaderboard positions that we reasonably believe breach these terms.
Weekly prize competition
Quiza runs a weekly leaderboard competition, in line with the Consumer Protection Act:
Free to enter — no purchase is necessary. You simply play the daily quiz and verify your mobile number to appear on the leaderboard.
How it works — your daily scores are added together across the week (Monday to Sunday, South African time) to form your weekly total. Entry is automatic when you play; there is no separate sign-up.
Skill-based — winners are determined by weekly leaderboard position (based on correct answers and speed), not by chance.
Prizes — each week the top three players win Takealot vouchers: R500 (1st), R300 (2nd) and R200 (3rd).
Tie-breaker — if players finish on the same weekly total, the player who reached that total first is ranked higher.
Eligibility — open to South African residents aged 18 or older (or with the consent of a parent or guardian). One verified mobile number per player.
Winner notification & prizes — winners are confirmed after the week closes (on the following Monday) and contacted by SMS on the verified number used to play. Vouchers are delivered by SMS. If a winner cannot be reached or does not respond within 14 days, the prize may be forfeited.
Claiming your prize — to receive a prize, a winner must reply with their full name and South African ID number (or passport number). This is used only to verify eligibility, confirm identity and keep a record of winners. Prizes cannot be paid without it.
One person, one entry — each person may take part using only one mobile number, and may win one prize per competition week. We keep a register of past winners by ID number. If we find that the same person has entered or won using more than one number, we may ask them to nominate a single number to use going forward, and we reserve the right to disqualify additional entries or withhold prizes obtained through multiple numbers.
Fair play — any attempt to manipulate scores, use multiple numbers, or cheat the leaderboard will lead to disqualification.
Content and accuracy
We aim for our quiz questions and facts to be accurate, but we provide the service "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
Intellectual property
The Quiza name, logo, question compilation and site content are our property and may not be copied or reused without permission. Quiza is an independent quiz and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, team, event or athlete featured.
Privacy
Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
